Prof. Dr. Ali Erişen received his bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees from the Faculty of Engineering Sciences at Ege University in 1972, 1974, and 1978, respectively. His doctoral dissertation focused on Nuclear Engineering. Since 1982, he has served as a faculty member at Dokuz Eylül University, Erciyes University, and Kırıkkale University. During 1980–1981, he was a visiting scholar at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in the USA for postdoctoral research. His administrative roles have included institute director and deputy director, dean and vice-dean, department chair, membership in institute and faculty boards, and membership in university executive boards and the senate.

He has numerous scientific publications. He has conducted research in his areas of expertise, including energy, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, and thermal and mechanical system design. As a faculty member, he has taught undergraduate courses such as Thermodynamics, Gas Dynamics, Air Conditioning, and Engineering Mathematics, and graduate-level courses including Advanced Engineering Mathematics, Nuclear Engineering, and Advanced Thermodynamics, contributing significantly to education at the institutions where he served. Additionally, he has served as a panelist, board member, reviewer, and observer in more than 30 academic and industry-based projects under TÜBİTAK (BİDEB, TEYDEB) and the Ministry of Industry.
